A Note From Me- Firsts

When I started writing on this blog 4 (wow) years ago I didn’t really think of it growing outside of being a place to document my Disney internship. Then slowly over the years, it morphed into a place that I could talk about myself a lot, which is always the goal. But over the course of the last 9 months despite being literally trapped inside with a pandemic I lacked any interest at all to write. It wasn’t until I realized that it wasn’t the writing that no longer suited me but the format that I was writing in.

***I really had a full head of orange hair, gladiator sandals and you guys still stuck around***

A long-winded way of saying that I am re-formatting and re-purposing the nature of my website. I think/hope it will take a bit more of an online magazine format, which is why you may notice the top of my website has changed a bit. So you can still access all of my old content under categories, but all of my new content will be located under the magazine tab.

Each month will have a theme of some kind and then I (and some guests) will post content during the month under that theme.

If you would like to be one of these guests you can email submissions (writing, poetry, photos, art etc) to [email protected], You can also submit for next months theme which is Coming of Age

This brings me to the only thing I really wanted to say which is this month’s theme- Firsts. A bit to represent the creation of this new format. A bit because I feel like lately, I have finally got to where I have been trying to go and something that has been going with that is doing a lot of things for the very first time. I don’t know why, and maybe I am ridiculous, but I used to associate first’s so aggressively with being young. But being young is so relative, and you really never stop doing things for the first time. There is so much that goes into doing something for the first time, but for me personally, I think it is really fun. I mean firsts are usually so silly, like a first job, a first kiss, the first time you tried something that would later be your favorite thing in the world. It’s like with every first there is endless opportunity for it to be the new greatest thing in your life. I think I am rambling now (and getting a little meta), but basically big gigantic thank you to my friends who supported this idea, my parents for not getting mad at me when I inevitably say something they think will hurt my chances of future employment and anyone who has been reading for a while now.

Onto the first.

xxx,

Taylor
